Empowering Workers with Health Awareness
The Karuna Team recently conducted a comprehensive awareness session on Leprosy, TB, and HIV for 57 workers employed on the High-Speed Rail Project in Thane. Coinciding with World AIDS Day, the session aimed to educate workers, supervisors, and engineers about these diseases’ causes, symptoms, and treatment options.
The interactive session saw enthusiastic participation from the workers, who collectively pledged to contribute towards making India free from Leprosy, TB, and HIV.
As a follow-up, the Karuna Team plans to conduct HIV and Leprosy tests for all workers as a preventive measure, ensuring early diagnosis and treatment if needed. The supervisors have also requested the Karuna Team to conduct regular Health Awareness sessions to promote workers’ health, safety, and well-being.”
